Scarlet Moriarity, co-founder of Dance Vancouver, brings a lifetime of dance experience and an unmistakable stage presence to everything she does. Born and raised in Mexico, Scarlet was immersed in dance from a young age, mastering a wide range of styles including Mexican folkloric, modern, jazz, tap, competitive cheer, and of course—Salsa.

A 2018 World Salsa Champion, three-time Canadian Salsa Champion, U.S. Salsa Open Champion, and multi-time World medalist, Scarlet is celebrated both as a powerhouse performer and an inspiring teacher. Known for her elegant, sexy styling and seamless musicality, she brings layers of nuance, grace, and improvisation to her movement.

At Dance Vancouver, Scarlet specializes in ladies’ Salsa styling, performance training, and competitive choreography. She brings her extensive training with world-class coaches into the studio, creating classes that are technical, expressive, and deeply empowering. Her teaching style is warm, encouraging, and deeply analytical:

“For me, movement is like a puzzle—I love figuring out how everything connects.”

Above all, Scarlet is passionate about building an inclusive, uplifting dance community. Alongside her husband and dance partner Patrick, she continues to shape Dance Vancouver into a space where students of all backgrounds and goals—whether social or competitive—can thrive.

“What matters most is being there for our students and having fun together—that’s what it’s all about.”
