DVS TERMS AND CONDITIONS


 

Agreeing to participate in lessons with Dance Vancouver Studio means you agree to the following terms and conditions. If you have questions or concerns regarding any part of these conditions please contact us prior to participating.


 

Payment Policy

 

By selecting a product or service, you agree to pay Dance Vancouver Studio the one-time and/or monthly or annual subscription fees indicated. Membership payments will be charged on a pre-pay basis on the day you sign up and will cover the use of that service for a monthly or annual subscription period as indicated.

 

Payments are not refundable unless in exceptional circumstances. Dance Vancouver Studio reserves the right to change the payment terms and fees at any time, however, we will endeavor to inform students of any changes as soon as possible.

 

 

Class Booking Policy


DVS students are required to book themselves in for all classes they plan to attend. It is strongly recommended to book your classes immediately after registration / payment has been made. Once payment has been made you will be prompted to book yourself in for classes. Bookings need to be in no later than 9am on the day of class. However it is advised to book asap. Bookings can be done by following the prompts after payment has been made, and or on the dancevancover.ca website and, on the DVS App. 

 

 

Class Booking Cancellation Policy

 

Class bookings and booking cancellations can be done directly through the dancevancouver.ca website (My account > My Bookings) as well as on the DVS (Fit by Wix) App no later than 6 hours prior to the start of the class. Late cancellations and no shows will be subject to a $5 fee. This applies to Membership holders, New Student Deal holders, returning students registered in individual Courses, and/or persons with 8 class “punch cards”. Failure to cancel classes by the deadline could result in a $5 late cancellation fee, and the missed class will be deducted from their total remaining classes and no make-up class given.

The class booking and cancellation guidelines are in place to better help us provide the best experience by helping balance ratios of leads and follows and allow potential waitlisted persons the opportunity to join a fully booked class. 

 


Drop-Ins

Drop-In fees that have already been used cannot be put towards any course or membership. Drop-ins are only possible if space is available, and if it does not reasonably disrupt the class lead to follow ratio and that the class level is appropriate for the drop-in student, 

 

Prospective students are welcome to view any and all classes before joining. 

 

 

Class Pass Policy

 

Class Passes activate on the date of purchase. They are non-refundable, non-transferable and may not be placed on hold. 8-Class Pass expires 90 days from purchase. Class Passes exclude workshops.


 

Credit / Refund Policy

 

Refunds may be granted before the start date of the first class (minus possible processing fees). No refunds will be given once the start date has commenced or first class has been taken. 

 

Refunds or credits may be granted due to illness (minus processing fees). Medical proof required.

 

Personal matters or holidays taken during the term you are registered in will not be considered as eligible for refunds or credits.

 

Note: any credit given will expire in 6 months after being issued. Credit is non transferable


 

 


DVS Canceled Classes

 

If classes are canceled due to the fault of the Studio, the time will be made up, or credit will be carried forward to the following month’s fees. This will be done at the discretion of Dance Vancouver Studio.

 

If it is necessary to cancel a class due to adverse weather conditions, Dance Vancouver Studio will not refund class fees, but when possible, will offer ‘make-up lessons’ at a later date instead.

 

 

Waiting list Policy

To join a class waitlist prospective students must book through the DVS App. When a spot opens up waitlist members will be notified in order of first come first serve. Be mindful you have only 15 minutes to confirm your spot once notified. If you fail to confirm your spot in the 15 minute window, the opportunity will go to the next person in line.

 

 

New Student Deal Policy

 

This one Month New Student Promo is for NEW students only, and cannot be purchased if you have paid for classes at DVS within the past 3 years.

 

It is strongly encouraged for all New Students to start attending classes at the beginning of the month when new 4 week cycles of classes begin. New students to DVS with prior experience elsewhere are strongly encouraged to book a complimentary assessment. Assessments are used to help direct prospective students to the best starting point within our program.

 

Dance Vancouver Studio reserves the right to refuse enrolment in classes where the dancer is not at the standard required. 

 

This membership type is  non-refundable 3 days after purchase or once you attend your first class, whichever comes first. These memberships cannot be placed on hold once activated. This membership will expire 3 months after purchase. 

 

 

 

1 Month Unlimited Membership

 

These memberships are non-refundable 3 days after purchase or once you attended your first class, whichever comes first. These memberships are non-transferable and cannot be placed on hold once activated. This membership will expire 3 months after purchase.

 

 

Ongoing Unlimited Membership Cancellation Policy

The Monthly Auto-Renew Membership may be canceled any time AFTER the third month has been paid. To cancel, notify Dance Vancouver Studio staff by email at least 1 week before the billing date at dancevancouverinfo@gmail.com. At this point, Dance Vancouver Studio will cancel the membership at the end of the current paid month. An email confirmation from DVS will be sent confirming the termination. Any request received after the billing date will be processed for the following month. Any request made less than 1 week before the billing date will incur a $25 processing fee. 

Note that Monthly Auto-Renew Memberships may not be placed on hold or terminated until 3 consecutive successful payments have been made. A $15 administration fee applies for payments that are unable to process or are in default or are late. 

 

Ongoing Membership Hold Policy

 

Ongoing memberships can be put On Hold for a maximum of 2 months per calendar year. If another service is purchased / used during that period, that hold won’t count and the student will still be eligible for another hold during the calendar year. The studio must be advised via email at least 1 week before the start of the hold period. Note that Monthly Auto-Renew Memberships may not be placed on hold or terminated until 3 consecutive successful payments have been made. A $15 administration fee applies for payments that are unable to process or are in default or are late. 

 

 

Annual Unlimited Membership

 

12-Month Unlimited Memberships activate on the day full payment is made and expire 1 year later. This membership is non-refundable and non-transferable. This membership may be placed on hold one time in the 12-month period for a minimum of 3 weeks and up to a maximum of 8 weeks. If another service is purchased / used during that period, that hold won’t count and the student will still be eligible for another hold during the calendar year. The Studio must be advised via email at least 1 week before the start of the hold period.

 

 

Private Lesson Payment & Cancellation Policy

 

A $25 non-refundable deposit is required for all private lessons. Scheduling changes/ rebookings must be made 24 hours in advance or your deposit will be forfeited. For all rescheduled bookings made within more than 24 hours, the deposit will go toward the next booking. In the event of a cancellation the deposit is non-refundable.

 

 

Lost Property Policy

 

Dance Vancouver Studio will not be responsible for items lost, damaged or stolen, however anything we do find will be placed in the Lost & Found Bin at the Front Desk. Lost items will be held at the Studio for 30 days, after that time period, any unclaimed items will be donated. Secured lockers with key access are available at no cost during class hours. Please ask the Front Desk for assistance.
