Starting September we are gradually re-introducing partner work classes. Class capacity is limited. You must sing up with a partner from your social bubble. Masks are mandatory for all partner class participants.

*New!    Starting September 1

Everyone entering and exiting the studio must wear a protective mask / face covering. All participants remaining indoors in between classes must also wear a mask.

Check-in

Our front desk has been equipped with a new plexiglass barrier.

Checking-in is also touch free. Just tell us what classes you’re attending and we’ll check you in for you. Once checked in please proceed to your spot on the dance floor asap.

Class Times

We will stagger our class end, and start times to allow for thorough sanitization between classes as well as reduce congestion in the studio during class cross over.

Routine Cleaning

Our team will be using antibacterial and antiviral cleaners to clean all surfaces daily and all high touch areas before, between and after each class. Hand sanitizers will be provided in the studio for staff and client use and disinfectant wipes/spray for fitness classes.

Self-Assessment Tool

All staff and students are asked to complete a Self-Assessment Tool https://bc.thrive.health/ within 24 hours before attending classes to screen for signs or symptoms of COVID-19.

Registration & payment

Mandatory pre-registration and pre-payment in order to reduce touch-points in the studio as well as to prevent/reduce congestion at the front desk. No drop-ins, No registering at the door! No enquiring at the door! No viewing classes!

FAQ

Are masks required? Can I wear one if I prefer?

For our partner classes (Salsa 3 and Mambo 4) masks are mandatory.

Masks are mandatory upon entering and exiting the studio and during class breaks if remaining indoors.

Wearing masks is optional during all non-partner based classes, ie body movement, shines, Ladies styling, fitness classes, etc.

How will Dance Vancouver be handling illness with clients and staff?

Our staff have been informed that if they are sick with any symptoms of respiratory illness consistent with cold, influenza, or COVID-19, even if symptoms are mild, they must not work or take classes, they must remain at home, and they should contact their family physician, primary health care provider or Health Link BD at 8-1-1

If anyone begins to feel unwell, don a mask and leave the studio immediately, go straight home and contact your health care provider or 8-1-1 for further guidance.

Sick staff and clients should use the BC COVID-19 self-assessment tool.

If a staff persona has a COVID-19 diagnosis, the local Public Health department will identify anyone who may have been exposed to the sick person.

Our check-in procedure allows us to keep attendance records of all staff and students who attend classes. We will keep a permanent record of the attendance.

How is Dance Vancouver prepared for social distancing restrictions?

We are adhering to Federal/Provincial guidelines for social distancing by limiting the number of people in class, offering only touch free classes, staggering classes times, limiting the number of clients in our space at any given time, and indicating a minimum of 2 meter distances in high traffic areas on the floor.

Do you plan on offering partner-work classes in the future?

Yes, although we are excited to offer tons of solo based dance classes, the offering of partner-work classes will be a decision to be carefully considered and monitored in the future.

How many people are allowed in the studio at one time?

We are limiting studio capacity to within safe social distancing requirements as per government regulations.
